W5 podcast
For our week 5 assignment, I created a questionnaire designed to gauge students' use of technology in and out of school. I then created a voice recording of my own and several of the students reactions to the results of the survey. In the recording I forgot to include demographic information. I have no intention of re-recording so I will include the demographic information here: I interviewed 35 7th and 8th grade students in our small rural district in in a lower income region of upstate NY.

Hi Tracy
I liked the way you had a group of students respond together. It really sounded like they enjoyed the opportunity to talk about the technology they use.
I have done part of the recording for mine, and I did it separately. I am hoping I will be able to figure out how to add bits, like a voiceover. Was there a specific reason you chose podcastmachine for your vehicle?
Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa, I'm not sure I followed the assignment exactly, maybe more of a creative interpretation. I thought the group interwiew would be more interesting and entertaining both to record and listen to. It made editing easier as well. The only real editing I had to do was to silence out a couple spots where the students mentioned other students by name- which I had instructed them not to do. The only reason I chose podcastmachine was because it was the first listing I found on that tech resources page.
Thanks for the info Tracy!
Lisa.
I have another confession to make: I did not use any of the recommended hard/software to make the recording. I used my Android phone! How do you like that Josh?
I used my son's ipod. I could not get audacity to load at school and when I asked our peripatetic tech which program he recommended for actually recording, he did not know what was on there. It did eventually work - great feeling of accomplishment when something finally works that has been difficult to do!
